The fixture body is 3.9″ (10 cm) in diameter. Since most North American ceiling junction boxes are larger, a 4.7″ (12 cm) round canopy is included to cover the gap for a clean installation. If your junction box is 3.9″ or smaller, you may omit the canopy and install the fixture directly.
