The shade is formed through a polymer injection-molding process. As a natural result of this manufacturing method, a small circular mold gate trace may be visible near the top injection point of the shade. This is a standard characteristic — not a defect — and is present on all units, as shown in the product photo above.
When the light is on, the glow draws all attention; the trace is virtually imperceptible. During the day it blends naturally into the sculpture’s surface. It does not affect structural integrity, safety, or function in any way.

No. Traditional incandescent bulbs generate excessive heat that can damage the sculptural polymer shade. This fixture is strictly designed for cool-running LED bulbs.
It uses a standard E26 (North America) or E27 LED bulb. To preserve the shade’s material, ensure you only use LED light sources.
The fixture supports dimming when connected to a compatible wall dimmer switch and using a dimmable LED bulb. The pull-cord switch is an On/Off toggle only.
Not a defect — this is an expected characteristic of the polymer injection-molding process. The small circular trace visible near the top of the shade is the mold gate point, where material was injected during manufacturing. Every unit has this mark; it is intentionally documented in our product photos.
The trace does not affect the lamp’s structural integrity, safety, or visual charm once lit — the warm glow makes it virtually invisible. During the day it sits flush with the surface texture of the shade.
If a completely smooth, trace-free surface is important to you, we recommend our Glass Edition, which is mouth-blown and has no injection-molding process.
Very minor parting-line traces may occasionally appear near the base seam — also a standard result of polymer molding and not a quality issue. These are normal manufacturing characteristics shared by all handcraft-adjacent production methods and do not affect function or aesthetics when illuminated.
